IN LOVING MEMORY OF OUR HEAD GIRL
AGBA GRACE ADIYA
19 March 2009 – 20 September 2026
Dear Grace, our Head Girl, our friend, our sister…
We still don't know how to write this.
How do we put into words the pain of losing someone who was sitting beside us, learning with us, laughing with us and leading us—only for us to suddenly be told that you are no longer here?
It doesn't feel real.
We keep thinking you will you ever walk through the school gate again. Can we ever hear your voice again? Can we ever see you among us again?
Now, your seat will be empty.
And our hearts are broken. 💔
Grace, you were not just our Head Girl. You were one of us.
You led us, but you were also our friend. You encouraged us. You shared our school days with us. You became part of our memories, our jokes, our conversations, our struggles and our dreams.
We never imagined that one day we would have to gather to write a tribute to you.
We thought there would be many more school days ahead. More laughter. More photographs. More examinations. More celebrations. More memories.
We thought we had more time.
If only we knew how precious those ordinary days were, we would have held on to every moment a little tighter.
Your Head Girl badge meant leadership, but to us it meant something more. It represented the trust placed in you and the person you were becoming.
And now, even though you are no longer physically with us, the example you left behind will continue to speak.
Grace, your classmates will remember you.
We will remember your face.
We will remember your voice.
We will remember your presence.
We will remember the moments we shared.
We will remember the girl who became our Head Girl.
And whenever we gather at school and your name is mentioned, we will know that someone special once walked these corridors with us.
Someone who was our classmate.
Our friend.
Our sister.
Our Head Girl.
There will be days when remembering you makes us smile, and there will be days when it makes us cry.
But we promise that your memory will not disappear.
You will live on in the stories we tell, in the memories we share and in the hearts of the students who knew you.
To your family, we are deeply sorry.
We cannot take away your pain, but please know that Grace was loved here. She was valued here. She was part of our family.
And to our teachers and the entire Adagba Legacy College family, we mourn with you.
Today, we are students grieving the loss of our Head Girl.
But tomorrow, when we return to school, we will carry something with us:
Her memory.
Dear Grace,
You left us far too soon.
Your chapter with us has ended, but your story in our hearts will never end.
🕊️ Rest peacefully, Grace.
From your classmates and fellow students at Adagba Legacy College.
You were our Head Girl.
You will forever be our sister.
You will forever be remembered.
You will forever be part of us. 🕊️💔
