The decline continues... Even Tanzania.

As a young independent country, Nigeria and a few other countries sponsored Tanzania's application as 104th UN member.

In 1964, Nigeria sent its soldiers to quell military mutiny in Dar es Salaam, replacing British troops.

RE: REMOVAL OF NIGERIAN NATIONALS FROM THE REFERRED VISA CATEGORY


The Immigration Department informs the public that citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria have been officially removed from the Referred Visa Category, following published amendments in the Government Gazette number 246 of 2026.


With immediate effect, Nigerian nationals traveling to the United Republic of Tanzania are no longer subject to referred visa restrictions and will follow standard visa application procedures through the official it migration online portal or designated entry points.
