Florida mom and son charged with incest after having sex "about 100 times," sheriff says
Florida deputies said they got way more than they bargained for when they were investigating a domestic incident that involved a mother and her son.
Christina Clemens, 46, of Lakeland, southwest of Orlando, called for help claiming that her son, Shane Clemens, 22, hit her during the domestic dispute, according to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.
"Shane, you ought not ever lay a hand on your mama," Sheriff Judd said in a Facebook post Tuesday.
According to Judd, Shane Clemens became angry after his mother called deputies and they arrested him. That's when he informed deputies that he and his mother had been having a sexual relationship since he was 18 years old, according to Judd.
"That's when we asked mama, 'Have you been having sex with your son since he was 18?'" Judd said.
That's when Christina Clemens allegedly replied, "only about 100 times."

Christina Clemens, 46, and her son, Shane Clemens, 22, were arrested in Polk County, Florida, after deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at their Lakeland home. What initially appeared to be a family dispute reportedly led investigators to allegations of a sexual relationship between the mother and son.
According to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd and the arrest report obtained by TMZ, Christina initially contacted authorities following an argument with Shane and accused him of physically striking her.
Shane was arrested following the incident.
However, according to investigators, Shane subsequently told deputies that he and his mother had been involved in a sexual relationship that began when he was 18.
Detectives then questioned Christina about her son’s allegation.
Police said she acknowledged the relationship and told investigators that she and Shane had engaged in sexual intercourse “about 100 times.”
Police Say Encounters Were Recorded
The investigation reportedly uncovered additional details about the alleged relationship.
According to the arrest report cited by TMZ, the encounters allegedly took place in different areas of the Lakeland residence and sometimes involved adult intimacy gadgets.
Investigators also said cameras were installed in the living room and bedroom and had recorded some of the alleged encounters.
The allegations have drawn attention because of both the reported duration of the relationship and the evidence investigators say they found during the probe.
Authorities said the relationship had continued for approximately four years, beginning after Shane turned 18.
Husband Allegedly Had Suspicions
Investigators also questioned Christina’s husband about the allegations.
According to CBS News, the husband told deputies that he had been unaware of the alleged sexual relationship but had previously become suspicious when Christina and Shane would enter the master bedroom and lock the door.
The husband reportedly described his marriage as happy and said he did not know what was allegedly happening between his wife and son.
Police Say Mother Discussed Deleting Evidence
The investigation reportedly took another turn after Shane was taken into custody.
According to the arrest report cited by TMZ, deputies monitored a telephone conversation between Christina and Shane while he was in jail.
Police allege that Christina discussed ending their relationship and encouraged Shane to tell her husband that his earlier disclosure had been made because he was angry.
Investigators further alleged that Christina told Shane he would have to give her his phone after his release so that she could delete evidence.
Charges Against Mother and Son
Christina Clemens was charged with incest and living in open adultery, according to reports. Shane was also charged with incest, while authorities separately accused him of domestic violence battery in connection with the incident that initially brought deputies to the home.
Court records reported by Oxygen indicate that Shane’s incest charge was later listed as dropped, although reporting on the case has varied as the proceedings develop.
The case remains a criminal matter, and allegations contained in an arrest report are not findings of guilt. The defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
